Virginia B. Jeremiah, 82, of Hilo died Nov. 17. She was the wife of the late Buster K. Jeremiah of Keaukaha. Visitation 3-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5 at Kuhio Chapel, 144 Desha Ave. in Keaukaha. Frederick “Fred” Hisashi Kubojiri, 87, of Keaau died Nov. 5 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Glenwood, he was a retired mechanical repair supervisor for the county Department of Parks and Recreation, retired U.S. Army sergeant 1st class, worked for the state Department of Agriculture and was a member of Puna Covenant Church. Survived by sons, Harry (Jill) Kubojiri of Hilo, Kenneth Kubojiri of Keaau and Edwin Kubojiri of Mountain View; daughters, Marian Hasegawa of Honolulu and Francene “Chako” Kubojiri of Albuquerque, N.M.; brother-in-law, Dallas Jelsma of Hilo; eight grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Taeko Nakamoto, 80, of Hilo died Nov. 10 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Hilo on June 7, she was a retired from Waiakea High School teacher. Services held. Born in Kaohe, Kona, she worked for Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co. and the former Punaluu Black Sands Restaurant, was a musician, hula dancer and instructor and member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.
